Presently Chakrata encloses military cantonment and the access is restricted here for civilian travelers.

The massive Himalayan peaks like Rohini Peak, Swarga Peak and the Banderpoonch,Chakrata. Almost beauty of the nature can be sighted from here.
It is an ideal place for Bird Watching and butterflies of different colors are in plenty here. Budher Cave (40 kms): Thana Danda Peak are other popular tourist places in the vicinity of Chakrata.
